| As a diver, it is always important to keep an open mind and be willing to learn. Strange intro I know. I suppose some context is needed here. One of the divers did not have a very good first dive. As I love sharing the underwater world, it always makes me sad to see that. With that in mind I offered to dive with him on the second dive. Just keep it simple and enjoy the wreck. Right below the boat and in about 30′ of water. No stress. He declined my offer and reminded me of how, as divers, it is important to listen to your body. Never be afraid to call a dive off if you are not feeling comfortable. It sounds simple but it’s not as easy as you think. Stupid thoughts, like not wanting to let your dive buddy down or the notion that you paid for a dive – therefore you must do it. You have to let them go and listen to yourself. I am glad to have met this gentleman. He is very wise. |
